One of our favorite golf vacations in La Quinta California, is too stay in a La Quinta casita, play the Norman and Stadium Courses (With 150 slope, Pete Dye's course is a killer, but what a challenge!). Of all the courses we have played, these stack right up there with our very favorites anywhere! We have a little golf tournament here every year with some of our old golfing buddies on the West Coast and these are the golf courses we love to play. The 25,000 square foot clubhouse is worth the trip! With 150 slope, Pete Dye's course is a killer. But what a challenge!
Indulge yourself with The Classic Golf Course in Palm Desert. Arnold Palmer Company and PGA Tour put this semi-private high end golf course into play. It offers 7,305 yards of rolling terrain with elevated tees, don't be frigentened by Slope of 142, just play from the tee that matches your ability and enjoy this totally unique golf course in Palm Desert.
Desert Dunes is an extremely challenging target course, with narrow fairways, fast greens and water hazards. Rated #29 best Golf Facility in the U.S.A by golf Digest it meanders through much of the original desert vegetation and has a Slope of 142 (not easy). Desert Willow Golf Course, a 36-hole playground, may be one of the best municipal complexes in the country, providing a super California golf experience. Desert Willow uses effluent water and the Southern California Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects was so impressed it gave them the award for water and land conservation and reclamation.
